Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of obstetricians, gynecologists, embryologists, and nurses who have a specialized interest in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the physiologic and nervous system effects of acupuncture relevant to fertility patients undergoing assisted reproductive treatment.
  • Identify clinical situations in reproductive medicine where acupuncture may serve as a supportive adjunct to improve patient wellness, stress regulation, symptom management, and overall treatment experience.
  • Review current evidence regarding acupuncture’s role in integrative fertility care, including its potential effects on stress reduction, uterine blood flow, and patient-centered outcomes during IVF and FET cycles
  • Recognize and diagnose the pathologies that contribute to male factor infertility
  • Review the treatment modalities for male factor infertility
  • Describe situations that could generate second victims. Identify psychologic impact of adverse events on health care providers  
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of commonly used surgical technologies. Apply evidence-based and value-conscious decision-making principles
  •  Discuss the history and role of REI in reproductive surgeries
  • Enumerate the indications of surgeries in patients undergoing IVF treatment

Criteria for Success
